Here’s a recap of Dr. Peter Coleman’s video, “One Pill Can Kill.”
The Dangerous Reality
The DEA has recently come out with a campaign called One Pill Can Kill, and it’s unfortunately true, and we’ve been hearing about it. About 70,000 people last year died of an overdose, caused by fentanyl. Close to 20% of the pills that are made on the street that people are buying have fentanyl in them.
These pills have a dose that’s fatal in one pill. Those that have a tolerance may not face the same reality, but for a new user, someone who thinks they’re buying ecstacy or Xanax, it could mean a fatal dose.
No Way to Know
Somebody’s trying to buy a downer or sedative, not an opiate. By dealers giving it to them, they’re somehow, in some ways, killing their client, which doesn’t make any sense. But it is what’s out there, and people deserve to know.
If a pill is pressed and you think it’s a real pill from a real pharmacy, it can be fatal. Fentanyl is deadly every time you try it because you have no idea what you’re buying. These things look identical to the ones that are made by the pharmaceutical companies.
Getting the Word Out
So “one pill can kill” is the reality our nation is facing. Please share this information on social media, we just need to get the word out there that every single pill that people buy on the street that does not come from a doctor’s prescription could be fatal.
70,000 people lost their lives last year; it’s just unbelievable, so please do what you can.
